Notice of informal comment period – Office of Drinking Water Fee Rulemaking
The Department of Health (department) wants your feedback on draft fee updates to Office of Drinking Water program fees.
This is your chance to suggest changes, ask questions, or share your ideas. Your feedback will help shape the rule before it’s opened for formal public comment.
The informal comment period ends on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
The following documents show the changes to the draft rule and explain the changes in detail:
- Office of Drinking Water Fee Narrative
- WAC 246-290-990 for Water system evaluation and project review and approval fees
- WAC 246-292-995 for Certified operator and public water system certification fees
- WAC 246-294-070 for Operating permit fees
Attend the Informational Session
The department will be holding an informational session to provide high-level information about the fee rulemaking. The fee adjustments will affect over 20 environmental public health programs. The department will be collecting comments and questions per the rulemaking process. The informational session will not include a dedicated Q&A. This session will be recorded and posted on the rulemaking webpage for those who cannot attend and for future reference. Partners and interested parties are also welcome to specifically request a meeting with the department.
