Last month, there were some developments with the Coordinated Water System Plan (CWSP) update project at Island County. The county website added a dedicated page for the CWSP Update status and the Board of County Commissioners passed a formal resolution creating the Water Utility Coordinating Committee (WUCC) to oversee the update project.

This month it was mentioned at this week’s commissioners meeting that the WUCC could have it’s first meeting around May 1st to begin the process of establishing bylaws and filling out the full membership of the committee.

In addition, the county recently published a link to the December 2025 Coordinated Water System Plan Comprehensive Study developed by the design engineering firm, Facet.
